In honor of Earth Day, I decided to go on a hike. I decided on Torrey Pines in San Diego. I chose this location because along my hike I would be able to feel the wind in my hair as I ran up the inclines. I was able to smell the flowers along the trails. I was able to hear the crashing of the waves. I was able to feel the sand in my toes and the sun on my skin. What better way to honor Mother Earth!
When I reached the water I prayed. I thanked God for the beauty that was in front of me. I thanked God for all he had created; including me. I take advantage of the simple beauty in life that I am blessed with. But today, I felt so close to God and he filled my body with joy and love and amazement.
And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry groundappear.” And it was so. God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
